7th TESOL Türkiye International ELT Conference

TESOL Türkiye is pleased to announce that the 7th TESOL Türkiye International ELT Conference will take place on 15th - 16th May 2026. The conference will be hosted by TED Bodrum College, Muğla, in Türkiye. The event welcomes presenters and participants interested in language teaching, learning, and professional development.

 CONFERENCE THEMES

TESOL Türkiye is a national association of ELT professionals dedicated to enhancing the quality of English language teaching and fostering lifelong learning across all levels of education in Türkiye. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and inclusiveness, the association creates opportunities for shared growth and professional development. The 2026 conference theme,

Mediation in ELT for a Connected World

explores language’s dual role: as a powerful tool for mediation, bridging meaning, culture, and diverse perspectives, and as a vital medium of connection. Mediation, in this sense, enables empathy, collaboration, and transformation that are crucial for success, whether in educational leadership, assessment, language teacher development, or the pursuit of quality. Therefore, we encourage submissions that delve into how effective communication builds trust and shared vision across all domains of ELT, fostering human-centered practices in our increasingly complex educational landscape.

PRESENTATION TYPES

We invite academics, teachers, researchers, experts, and practitioners to share their valuable ideas in one of the presentation types that follow:

Research Report (30 minutes)

A research report aims to share with the audience a piece of research to create the opportunity to discuss implications. Therefore, the presenter should provide only a brief overview of the study conducted by sharing the research question, the methodology, and the data analysis procedure. The emphasis should be placed on the findings, the insights gained, and the future implications. Presenters are encouraged to allocate at least five minutes at the end of the talk for questions from the audience.

Interactive Paper (30 minutes)

An interactive paper aims to share and enable the audience to gain a thorough understanding of an approach, idea, or theory by creating the opportunity for participants to reflect on and discover the rationale underlying the approach, idea, or theory, as well as the implications. Thus, the presenter should allow the audience ample time to interact to create discussion to lead participants to an understanding of the approach, idea, or theory.

Workshop (45 minutes)

A workshop aims to create the opportunity for hands-on practice through which participants will gain awareness of an idea or procedure that may help the growth of learners, teachers, and/or institutions by working through a series of tasks. Hence, the presenter should be the guide leading the participants through the various stages of the workshop that will eventually enable the audience to gain insight into the new idea or procedure.

Poster Presentations

A poster presentation aims to visually share the methodology, findings, insights, and implications of a research study or the overview and implications of a new approach, idea, or theory. Poster presenters should be available during the designated time for poster sessions to answer questions and interact with the audience.
