About TESOL Türkiye Events Planning Professional Council (EPPC)

EPPC, which currently comprises eight members including the Council Chair, works in close collaboration with the Board of Directors. It supports TESOL Türkiye by ensuring that (1) events are planned effectively, and (2) the content and program of TESOL Türkiye events (a) focus on current issues that impact the field of English language teaching, (b) are responsive to the diverse needs of the members, and (c) are aligned with the strategic direction of the association.

Profile of EPPC Members

Members of EPPC work with the Board of Directors to shape the content of all TESOL Türkiye regional events and the annual conference to meet the needs of the English language teaching community as well as to set standards to uphold the quality of the events. They are mainly responsible for the management process of all TESOL Türkiye events and work in close cooperation with members of relevant Professional Councils and Executive Committees of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to ensure that the annual conference, regional events and roadshows are planned effectively.

Therefore, the EPPC is looking for six members who:

  • Are a member of TESOL Türkiye in good standing (having paid the membership fee) who has had membership with the association for one year or more;

  • Demonstrate a willingness to work as part of a team;

  • Are creative;

  • Have strong communication, writing, computer literacy and organizational skills;

  • Are tech savvy;

  • Have multitasking and problem-solving skills;

  • Have experience in events planning; 

  • Have creative ideas and knowledge of current trends in ELT;

  • Have knowledge of different ELT contexts.
