Workshop: Plunge Yourself Soul-Forward into Picture Books by Melis Akdoğan Gündoğdu

TESOL Turkey has launched a series of monthly webinars to be delivered throughout 2022. We met on January 28 for our first webinar “Congraduations! What is next?”, and now we are inviting you to our second webinar to be held on February 26 by Melis Akdoğan Gündoğdu, titled “Plunge Yourself Soul-Forward into Picture Books”.
The event is free of charge for TESOL Turkey members, and the fee for non-member participants is ₺30. Abstract:
Picture books are both the first piece of art for a child and great opportunities to stimulate their imagination and creativity. However, more importantly, they insistently say that ‘Hope counts for everything.’ In this interactive online workshop, Melis Akdoğan Gündoğdu will share the reasons why picture books do even adults good and why classes should incorporate them by providing some examples. In addition, participants will discuss how picture books can be used in different classroom contexts from kindergarten to university with the help of hands-on practice.
Biodata:
Melis Akdoğan Gündoğdu is currently working as an English instructor and PD facilitator at Department of Foreign Languages at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. She earned her BA degree from the department of English Language and Literature at Ankara University in 2009. After having her first MA in the same department, she completed her second M.Sc. in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, she is a PhD student at METU in the field of ELT.
