Join us for the first session of “Revisiting Uncharted Realms” Webinar Series hosted by TESOL Türkiye on January 17, 2024 at 8 pm (GMT+3). Our first session, titled “Bridging the Gap: EAP Teachers as Catalysts in English Medium Academia”, will be presented by Erkan Arkın, PhD.

Erkan Arkın holds a BA and MA from Boğaziçi and Bilkent universities and a PhD from EMU. He is an esteemed TESOL Türkiye Trainer and also serves as an Executive Committee Member of TESOL Türkiye TEDSIG. Erkan has over twenty years of teaching experience contributing to the education and development of pre-service and in-service teachers, thanks to his dual role as faculty staff and professional development specialist at the Foreign Languages and English preparatory school (FLEPS). Previously he acted as FLEPS’ head of professional development, responsible for EAP teacher training and the Rector’s coordinator for academic affairs. Currently, he is the coordinator of the Institutional Effectiveness Unit of FLEPS. Erkan has also been an online consultant trainer for NILE (Norwich Institute for Language Education) since 2020. He contributes to the MAPDLE program as a thesis supervisor and is a tutor in NILE’s online “English as a Medium of Instruction” course.
